According to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, Jessica Clark, 33, allegedly stole $14,239.42 worth of fireworks from her job, Four Seasons Fireworks, to resell them. Clark has been charged with grand theft.

WFTV said a deputy was called out to the store last Monday after the owner said an employee had contacted them a few days before to report that Clark had asked for help to load a large number of fireworks into her personal car.

According to WFTV, the owner told the deputies that they watched Clark the day after. They apparently saw the other employee and Clark loading fireworks into her car. The owner then confronted them.

VSO said it was learned that Clark had loaded fireworks into her car from the store on multiple occasions. She eventually confessed to stealing them and returned the fireworks that she took. VSO said that Clark allegedly told management that she was planning to sell the fireworks to pay off some of her debt.

According to VSO, deputies helped unload one of the stolen loads of fireworks on Tuesday to the store and arrested Clark. She was released Tuesday afternoon after posting a $5,000 bond.
