In this week's edition of unexpected collaborations, we have Trivium frontman Matt Heafy working together '80s pop star Richard Marx.

The two have teamed up for a metal version of Marx's 1989 number-one hit, "Right Here Waiting." The updated recording features Marx singing lead over Heafy's heavy instrumentals and growling backup vocals.

"The crazy talented @matthewkheafy of Trivium came up with an amazing metal version of my song," Marx tweeted. "We did vocals together and it's out today! Check it out!!"

Trivium's most recent album is 2020's What the Dead Men Say. They'll join Megadeth, Lamb of God and In Flames on the Metal Tour of the Year, kicking off in August.
