Royal Caribbean cancels more trips through June 30, hopes to sail in July

More cruise lines are adjusting their sailing plans because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Royal Caribbean announced Thursday that its global fleet will not sail through June 30. Some ships will not offer voyages for an even longer period or will have different destinations than those originally planned.

Quantum of the Seas Alaska sailings from April 5 to October 14 have been canceled. It will remain in the Asia-Pacific region.

Odyssey of the Seas will not go on its planned voyages from Rome scheduled from May 9 to Oct. 28. Instead, it will start its first season from its homeport of Haifa, Israel, from June to October. Those trips are for Israel residents only.

Adventure of the Seas will not have its scheduled trips from Barcelona; instead, it will sail this June from Nassau.

Vision of the Seas will sail from Bermuda instead of San Juan, Puerto Rico starting in June.

Jewel of the Seas will offer sailings from Limassol, Cyprus, instead of its Northern Europe, Barcelona and Boston trips.

Anthem of the Seas will have what’s called an ocean getaway for UK residents instead of its planned European sailings.

Earlier this week, Disney Cruise Line announced the cancellation of sailings through June. Additionally, the Disney Magic will not be embarking on its European season.

Norwegian Cruise Line hopes to start sailing in July and will require all guests and crew members be vaccinated against COVID-19, The Wall Street Journal reported.
