Frank Mainka, a convicted sex offender, is accused of making the threats and has a history of cyberstalking dating back to 2007, WCBI reported.

In late December, the Facebook group Greater Golden Triangle Realtors posted a warning saying “An unidentified male is threatening to have his wife set up an appointment to view a property where he says he will show up and rape the attending [Realtor]! He has made other threats and boasts he has done this four times.”

Lowndes County Sheriff Eddie Hawkins told WCBI a local real estate agent had been contacted by phone call and text messages with graphic violent threats.

When investigators tried to contact Mainka, he fled and was later arrested in Arkansas, WTVA reported.

Sheriff Hawkins told WCBI they are working with other law enforcement agencies to see how many people Maika allegedly targeted and whether any of his threats were carried out.

Mainka was extradited back to Lowndes County and now faces cyberstalking charges as well as charges for failure to register as a sex offender, WTVA reported.
