Neal was a Nashville musician who appeared on both “America’s Got Talent” and “The Voice”. He was found dead in his apartment on Monday, according to Deadline.

According to People Magazine, Neal’s cousin, Dylan Seals, told them that Neal died following his battle with substance abuse. However, the exact cause of death is unclear.

Neal’s 2020 performance of his original song, “Send Me A Butterfly,” on “America’s Got Talent” was a highlight for him, according to Deadline. His other song, “Lost,” which he performed on the show was written after he got clean.

Variety said that Neal was on “The Voice” and he auditioned with Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer,” which led to all four judges turning their chairs around and ultimately Neal joining Adam Levine’s team. According to Variety, while on “The Voice,” Neal mentioned he was dealing with addiction and it got worse while he was on the show.
