Nita Strauss earns first top-10 'Billboard' Mainstream Rock hit by a lead solo female artist in over 25 years

Nita Strauss has accomplished a chart feat not seen in over 25 years with her new single "Dead Inside."

The track, which features guest vocals by Disturbed's David Draiman, has hit the top 10 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, marking the first time a lead-billed female solo artist has done so since 1995.

That year actually featured two women who hit top 10 on the ranking: Alanis Morissette with "Hand in My Pocket," and Melissa Etheridge with "Your Little Secret."

Strauss, who plays guitar in Alice Cooper's band, released "Dead Inside" in October. While she'd previously released an instrumental album called Controlled Chaos in 2018, "Dead Inside" marks her first solo tune with a guest vocalist.

Draiman joined Strauss earlier this month for the live debut of "Dead Inside" during a concert in Los Angeles.
