Bring Me the Horizon's next 'Post Human' EP includes "more pop elements"

Last week, Bring Me the Horizon dropped a new, pop-leaning single, "DiE4u," the first preview off the second EP in the band's planned four-part Post Human series. As keyboardist Jordan Fish tells Kerrang!, that pop element will continue throughout the upcoming EP.

"I think I see it as having some more pop elements, which we didn't have on the first record [2020's Post Human: Survival Horror]," Fish says. "It's catchy, but it's not really poppy."

"In places it's like emo, hyperpop, screamo maybe," he continues. "And I think that's where we would get, like, Bring Me riffs into that record more, even more of a kind of throwback way, like a Funeral for a Friend-type way."

No other details about the second Post Human EP have been announced, but Horizon's already started thinking about EPs three and four.

"I know basically what I want the third one to sound like, and the fourth one, but it will be a lot of experimentation until we hit the right the right mood," says frontman Oli Sykes. "The third one is going to be kind of easier, the fourth one is going to be an interesting challenge, just because of what I want to do with it."

Meanwhile, Fish thinks EP3 is "probably going to be more electronic."

"It's maybe more what I would call a Matrix‑y sound, sort of like The Prodigy," he says.
