Seether Honored for Decade of Success

Seether

In the ever-changing world of the music industry, it’s a rarity for bands to reach a decade with the same representation, but Seether are still going strong with Wind-Up Records after hitting the 10-year mark. To help celebrate the occasion, Seether were surprised backstage by President/CEO Ed Vetri and their manager Jack Rovner with plaques that marked the accomplishments the band have reached over the past decade.
Vetri stated, “The combination of their hard work, dedication and talent has set them apart from so many others and has allowed them to become an extremely successful career band. We are proud to have had such a successful career with them and look forward to continuing on to ‘Disclaimer’s’ 20th Anniversary!”

The presentation was made over the Labor Day weekend at the band’s inaugural Rise Above Fest in New Hampshire. The charity-based event was the first of what they hope will be many more years of the suicide prevention and mental illness awareness fundraiser. Singer Shaun Morgan, who lost his brother to suicide, explained, “It never gets easier. This whole festival came about as a dedication to him and I think in a way to make a meaningless tragedy like that become meaningful.” Prior to the event, Morgan asked for their fans and peers help in creating a video speaking out against suicide. The final result can be seen in the clip below.

Buckcherry, Puddle of Mudd, Black Stone Cherry and a number of local acts rounded out the bill. Proceeds from the show, plus exclusive t-shirt sales and an online auction all helped raised money for the National Association of Mental Illness. The auction is still going with the exclusive and rare items donated by some of the band’s peers and supporters finally going to the top bidders on Sept. 10. Visit www.biddingforgood.com/riseabove to bid on items from Green Day, Nickelback, Kings of Leon, and more.

With the Rise Above Fest now behind them, Seether will catch a quick breather before headlining the Triple Treat tour with Sick Puppies and Kyng this fall. The trek launches Sept. 14 in Kansas City, Mo.
