Beck to Release Single on Jack White’s Label

An upcoming release on Third Man Records features a coming together of alt-rock heroes. Jack White’s Nashville-based record label will release a single by Beck; White also plays on the tracks, according to Pitchfork.

On May 28, Beck will release “I Just Started Hating Some People Today,” with “Blue Randy” as the b-side as part of Third Man Records’ Blue Series. The songs were recorded in Music City, U.S.A., in 2011 when Beck was working on a full album. White contributes “drums, acoustic guitar, punk vocal and background vocals” on the first song, but just drums on the b-side.

Fans can hear a preview of the songs at the Third Man website. Beck joins previous Blue Series artists Tom Jones, Wanda Jackson, Stephen Colbert, John C. Reilly and Insane Clown Posse.
