The saga of Randy Blythe‘s Czech imprisonment has met another road block, as the prosecutor in Blythe’s case once again challenged the vocalist’s bail. The prosecutor, who represents the family of a fan who died of a head injury sustained at a 2010 Lamb of God show, has now challenged Blythe’s bail for the second time and is reportedly seeking to keep Blythe in prison until a possible trial begins.
After his arrest nearly a month ago, Blythe attempted to pay his bail of approximately $200,000 in order to be released from Czech prison. The prosecutor, however, challenged the bail and attempted to prevent the release of the Lamb of God vocalist. Although the prosecutor’s complaint was denied, Blythe’s bail was doubled to approximately $400,000. After putting up the increased amount of money for bail once again, it was believed that Blythe may possibly be granted a release this week, but this latest complaint will keep Blythe behind bars for at least another week, if not indefinitely.
According to the Gauntlet, their Czech sources revealed this latest development to the website. “What happens now is that on Friday (July 27, 2012), the prosecutor will be back before the judge to give reason for the bail denial,” reports the Gauntlet. “At that point, the judge has five days to rule, and another five days for it to be written or published to the court. The judges ruling at this point will be final and unless charges are formally filed, Randy will be free to leave the Czech Republic without condition on bail.”
