Kid Rock Lends Support to Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan

Kid Rock-Paul Ryan

Looks like the third time is a charm for Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan. The politician, who is Mitt Romney’s running mate, was lambasted by Tom Morello after claiming to be a fan of Rage Against the Machine. He also took it on the chin from Twisted Sister‘s Dee Snider, who denounced him after the usage of ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ at a rally. But there is one rocker in his corner, as Kid Rock turned up at a fundraising event Friday (Aug. 24).
ABC News reports that the Michigan-born Rock continued to side with the Republican party by turning up at the Oakland Hills Country Club just outside of Detroit to raise some funds for the Mitt Romney campaign.

Romney and Rock made nice earlier this year, with the rocker allowing the politician to use his song ‘Born Free’ as a campaign theme. Rock told the audience, “I was going to come out, be a little wisenheimer and say, ‘Guess which one is running for vice president?’ And then they would introduce Paul and I would walk out and say hello.”

Ryan laughed back, stating, “So one of us Is running for vice president, but only one of us listened to ‘Bawitdaba’ on the way over here in the motorcade with the Secret Service.”

Ryan went on to salute the musician, stating, “We don’t resent people for being successful in this country. Look at this creator right here – the fruit of his labor coming from his mind, his talents. He took his path to find his happiness, and he is realizing his dreams, and he is paving his way. Only in America can you do this. That is what this country is about.”

Rock revealed that he will also make the trip to Tampa this coming week to perform at the Republican National Convention.
