If Theory of a Deadman’s Tyler Connolly were to walk up to you on the street and ask, “Do you know who I am?” would you know? That’s the basis behind the Canadian hard rock band’s latest behind-the-scenes video. The clip has Connolly walking through the streets of New York City, asking everyone and anyone, “Do you know who I am?” The results are pretty hilarious, and instead of ruining it for you, we’ve posted the video below for you to check out.
Connolly recently chatted about some of the misconceptions behind the band name, Theory of a Deadman. “We saw a couple girls yesterday eating lunch beside us,” the singer and lead guitarist told the South Bend Tribune. “We started having a conversation with them. We said, ‘We’re in a band.’ ‘What’s your band called?’ ‘Theory of a Deadman.’ They went, ‘Oh. Heavy metal, right?’ They both got really scared. It made me laugh… ”

Of course, Theory of a Deadman’s music is far from heavy metal. Try post-grunge with and edge. The band’s current single, ‘Hurricane,’ shows the softer side of Theory of a Deadman, and the track was actually co-written by songwriter Kara DioGuardi of ‘American Idol’ fame. “‘Hurricane’ was a song idea I had from years ago,” Connolly says. “I had the chorus. We sat down and I talked about where I wanted to go with the song. We figured out the lyrics. She is really good.”
