The full lineup for the 2011 Austin City Limits festival will be revealed this coming Tuesday, but organizers are making the suspense a bit more exciting with a new novelty:
scratch-off tickets announcing the bands.
Also doubling as a giveaway, the lottery cards contest is available at different locations around Austin for the next five days (only for those messing with Texas, sadly). Each day, the festival will offer Lineup Lottery tickets at five locally owned businesses listed over on the ACL website. In addition to gradually leaking the bands that are playing, if a fan scratches off the same band name three times on the card, they win a pair of free passes to the fest. Five of the cards in rotation (out of 2,000 total) are winners.
So far the cards have revealed the Fleet Foxes (excellent!), My Morning Jacket (great!), Delta Spirit (yawn!), J. Roddy Walston and the Business (who?), and costumed douche gods Empire of the Sun.
