Godsmack frontman Sully Erna hit the interview circuit last week and detailed several plans the band has in the works including a live album, a spring co-headlining with Staind, and an unidentified release.
Godsmack spent much of 2011 touring and working on other projects — frontman Sully Erna released his debut solo album ‘Avalon’ and the other members recorded the single ‘Fall of Rome’ with side project Another Animal. According to frontman Sully Erna, Godsmack fans will have a lot to look forward to 2012.

The singer/guitarist outlined the band’s plans for the new year speaking with his hometown newspaper The Boston Herald, saying that they will tour with Staind in the spring and will mix a live album in January — they will also record a few cover songs that inspired them for the disc. Erna also dropped by That Metal Show and hinted at what could be another album by teasing, “We have a couple of tricks up our sleeve and plan to release stuff for a special kind of retail piece.”

Godsmack released their fifth studio album ‘The Oracle’ in early 2010 — the album included the hit singles ‘Whiskey Hangover,’ ‘Cryin’ Like a Bitch,’ and ‘Love-Hate-Sex-Pain’ after debuting at #1 on the Billboard Albums Chart.
