Last month John Frusciante confirmed he's no longer a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Now Josh Klinghoffer, who previously toured with the Peppers and was rumored to be Frusciante's replacement, has revealed that he has officially joined the band, Music Radar reports. No official announcement has yet been made via the Peppers' reps. The band is still scheduled to return to the stage later this month during Grammy weekend in Los Angeles when they take part in the 2010 MusicCares Person of the Year gala dedicated to Neil Young.

 Frusciante revealed in a MySpace post that he actually left RHCP a year ago during the band's hiatus, but his departure didn't become publicly known until the band recently reentered the studio without him. Frusciante's exit marks the second time he's left the Peppers; after recording 1989's Mother's Milk and 1991's Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Frusciante took a one-album break from the band, returning for 1999's Californication. Frusciante added that his departure from the Rock Hall-nominated group was drama free and that his bandmates were supportive of his desire to explore other musical interests.

Klinghoffer previously joined the Peppers as a second guitarist when the group embarked on their Stadium Arcadium tour in 2007, and he also features on Frusciante's own 2009 solo album The Empyrean. Prior to that, Klinghoffer served as tour guitarist for artists like Beck, Gnarls Barkley and PJ Harvey. -rollingstone.com
