Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland had a mean fall off an elevated stage in Cincinnati's PNC Pavilion last week (Aug. 25).

The singer plummeted into the camera pit during the group's performance, and it took a minute for a pair of hefty security men to lift him back up. Still, Weiland appeared unharmed from the fall and, like the rock star he is, went on to finish the rest of the set.

One website got a hold of fan filmed video of the incident and offered the opinion that Weiland might be lip synching in concert because he continues to sing after he fell down, others counter that he simply continued to sing.

Antiquiet posted a story and video of the fall and commented that Weiland's vocals continued while Scott was down, thus raising a suspicion that he might be lip synching, but they also noted that it does not necessarily prove that he was.

STP's management released a statement that Weiland was not lip synching. Rock Radio reported that Weiland was not singing at the moment of the fall but was heard while he was off the stage, leading others to speculate that he simply continued singing while he was down like hennemusic who reported, "Weiland didn't miss a beat or a line, continuing to sing while in the pit."
