Green Day took the top spots in the three main categories of Rolling Stone's readers poll of the best music of the past decade.

The California Bay-area band nabbed best single for "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," best album for American Idiot and was also named the top artist of the decade.

American Idiot beat out Kanye West's Graduation and Radiohead's Kid A for the best album, while "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" placed ahead of Beyoncé's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" and "Beautiful Day" by U2."

The "American Idiot" single came in at number 13.

Green Day also topped the list of best artists, ahead of Radiohead, who came in second, U2 in third, Coldplay in fourth and the Black Eyed Peas in the fifth spot. Also making the top 10 were Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, Eminem, Jack White and Jay-Z.
