"Nicki Minaj" and "conservative" are not two words that normally go together, but her latest musical venture suggests the out-there rapper might lean further right than you'd think.
Lil Wayne's song"Mercy," from his new release Dedication 4,features Nicki rapping these instantly controversial lyrics: "I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney."
But is this really a statement of political affiliation? Nicki is known for adopting personalities and generally being playful in her songs, so it's very possible the "I" in those lyrics doesn't represent of Nicki herself.
As MTV points out, back in June, Nicki actually got political on her Twitter, calling out Obamacare for notbeing enough. She said "Just give FREE health care to all. @barackobama What can we do?"
It's hard to believe the same woman advocating free healthcare for all is also voting Romney, but who knows? Nicki is a complicated girl.
