GOODWILL FALL DONATION DRIVE, SEPT. 4 - 15
Getting rid of household items can help change lives during Goodwill's Fall Donation Drive, Wednesday Sept. 4 through Sunday Sept. 15. Goodwill is asking the community to donate household items to their nearest Goodwill Donation Station or store during the drive. Items currently in high demand include home decor, house wares, books, furniture, toys, small appliances and computers.
When you shop or donate at Goodwill, you’re funding educational programs and services that assist people in finding better jobs and building careers. Together with the support of our generous community, partners and employers, Goodwill provides employment, training, educational opportunities and related services to more than 52,000 individuals each year.
Donated items are re-sold at the non-profit’s Retail Stores, which provides funds for programs and services that help people find work and improve careers.
Donating items to Goodwill is also good for the environment. Last year alone, Goodwill recycled more than 13.1 million pounds of clothing, shoes and other items, including nearly 2 million of hazardous computer e-waste that was responsibly recycled.
To participate, bring your items to any Goodwill Donation Station or Retail Store. All donors receive a receipt for tax purposes. For more information or to find your nearest Donation Station, visit www.goodwillsa.org or call 210-924-8581.
Watch for Goodwill’s newest store at Loop 1604 and Bulverde Rd., opening Sept. 26.
