Join us, rain or shine, on March 9th, 2013 for a 5K Walk/Run at the Leon Creek Greenway. Proceeds will go to the Center for Refugee Services (CRS), a local nonprofit organization that aids individuals and families that have been forced to flee their country of origin due to violence and/or persecution. The CRS helps refugees achieve a New Beginning in the United States by providing: English as a Second Language instruction Tutoring for school-aged children Culturally sensitive individual & family counseling Social & health support for new parents Job search assistance & interpreter services Academic scholarships to Texas colleges and Health, Employment, and educational service referrals. Event Information: Location: Leon Creek Greenway Valero Trailhead at 1604 & I-10, Beginning and Ending behind the Drury Inn Hotel Registration: Prior to February 20th registration is $25 and is $30 afterwards. The course is paved, will include one water stop, and is fairly flat with some gentle slopes. T-shirts and goodie bags will be given to all pre-registrants and post-registrants while supplies last.
