“The world is falling apart. What’s a lip?” Fonda joked when praised by the interviewer for still showing up to face the press.

Fonda and Tomlin went on to discuss their Netflix show, how they do and don’t resemble their characters, the importance of social activism and other topics during the lively interview, which can be watched in full on the Build Series website.

On Tuesday, Fonda quickly made mention of the procedure during a “Today” show appearance with Tomlin.

“I had a little cancer,” she said, waving her hand.

While posing for pictures during press rounds, Fonda covered her mouth, saying on Instagram, “I’ve found a clever way to disguise my lip bandages from removal of cancer.”

‘Oh Happy Day’ singer Edwin Hawkins dead at 74

Edwin Hawkins, the gospel singer best-known for the song “Oh Happy Day,” has died at age 74.

The New York Times reported that Hawkins’ publicist, Bill Carpenter, said the musician died of pancreatic cancer in Pleasanton, California.

Hawkins brought gospel music to the mainstream when “Oh Happy Day” reached No. 4 on the Billboard pop chart and No. 2 on the Billboard R&B chart in 1969.

The 18th-century hymn was given an infectious new arrangement and released on “Let Us Go Into the House of the Lord,” an album by Northern California State Youth Choir, a group put together by Hawkins and friend Betty Watson, to raise money to travel to Southern California for a gospel competition.

The Modesto Bee reported in a 2008 profile of Hawkins that the song took a life of its own when an underground radio DJ in San Francisco played it.

“It was recorded on a friend’s little two-track machine,” Hawkins told The Modesto Bee. “It was never intended for commercial purposes at all.”

The song earned the youth choir -- renamed the Edwin Hawkins Singers -- their first Grammy. It got the award for Best Soul Gospel Performance in 1970.

“Oh Happy Day” went on to be recorded by artists across multiple genres, including Elvis Presley, Johnny Mathis and Glen Campbell, The Associated Press reported.

The song saw a resurgence decades later when used in the 1993 Whoopi Goldberg comedy “Sister Act 2.”

Hawkins continued to make music after the success of “Oh Happy Day,” winning three more Grammys and getting voted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame in 2007.

"Third-generation DCFR firefighter Capt. Scott Stroup can be seen catching one of the children that was dropped from the third-floor balcony. Great job by all hands operating on this fire as several lifesaving grabs were made that night," the department posted on Facebook.

An estimated 50 people were left without a place to live after the massive fire at the Decatur apartment complex.

Capt. Eric Jackson, with DeKalb County Fire and Rescue, told WSB-TV that four adults and eight children were hurt in the fire.

He said their injuries were minor and mostly related to smoke inhalation.

Firefighters kicked in doors and ushered out residents when they arrived on the scene, Jackson said.

One of the victims told WSB-TV's Steve Gehlbach hearing the screams coming from the people trapped was the most frightening part of the fire for them.

“Jumping out of the building. Jumping out of their balconies. Someone said they threw their baby outside and fireman caught the baby,” they said.

Good Samaritan riding Chicago train gives snow boots to homeless man

Giving someone the shirt off your back is a time-worn phrase that means performing an act of kindness to help someone.

A Chicago man helped a homeless man by giving him the snow boots off his feet, WLS reported.

Jessica Bell posted the good Samaritan act on Facebook. She said she was riding a train home last week when she saw Maurice Anderson take off his expensive snow boots and give them to a homeless man.

The homeless man, Bell wrote on Facebook, was “older, weathered, minding his own business.”

“His feet are so swollen he's wearing the tattered gym shoes he has with the back folded down, like slip-ons,” Bell wrote. “I don't know how many pairs of socks he's wearing in an attempt to keep his feet warm but there is blood seeping through.”

The homeless man said his feet might have been frostbitten, Anderson told WLS.

“I asked him what size shoe did he wear. He was like, ‘A 12.’ I myself was a 12, so I said ‘Here you go,’” Anderson told WLS.

Anderson handed the homeless man his black snow boots and a pair of socks. Anderson, who currently works as a service technician in Kentucky, had a spare pair of boots in his suitcase, which he put on, WLS reported.

“This is not what you see on the train every day, it was amazing,” Bell told WLS.

Bell snapped a few photos of the boots changing feet and posted them on social media.

“It was a really selfless and quiet act, no fanfare,” Bell told WLS. “It just happened.”

“He's already in distress, he's out in the cold, riding the train,” Anderson told WLS. “If I'm not reaching out to help someone, I can't say anything.”

Aziz Ansari responds to sexual misconduct allegations

Comedian Aziz Ansari released a statement Sunday in response to allegations of sexual misconduct first reported on women's website Babe.net.

According to the article published Saturday, a 23-year-old photographer said Ansari pressured her into having oral sex and "repeatedly asked her for sexual intercourse after she had already declined" after the pair went on a date in September.

>> Eliza Dushku says she was molested by 'True Lies' stunt coordinator at age 12

She said she gave physical cues that she was not interested, but the comedian either did not notice or ignored them.

The woman added that she told Ansari during the encounter that she "didn't want to feel forced because then I'll hate you, and I'd rather not hate you."

She said Ansari texted her the next day to say it was fun meeting her.

"Last night might've been fun for you, but it wasn't for me," she said she wrote back. "You ignored clear non-verbal cues; you kept going with advances."

After explaining her discomfort, she said Ansari apologized, saying he had misread the situation.

"In September of last year, I met a woman at a party. We exchanged numbers. We texted back and forth and eventually went on a date. We went out to dinner, and afterwards we ended up engaging in sexual activity, which by all indications was completely consensual," the statement read, according to USA Today.

"The next day, I got a text from her saying that although 'it may have seemed okay,' upon further reflection, she felt uncomfortable. It was true that everything did seem okay to me, so when I heard that it was not the case for her, I was surprised and concerned. I took her words to heart and responded privately after taking the time to process what she had said."

The statement added: "I continue to support the movement that is happening in our culture. It is necessary and long overdue."

NFL commissioner gives 99-year-old Vikings fan tickets to Super Bowl

When it comes to the Minnesota Vikings, Millie Wall has seen it all -- almost.

>> Read more trending news

The 99-year-old fan was there when the Vikings joined the NFL in 1961. She suffered through four Super Bowl losses in the 1970s, and agonized when Dallas’ Drew Pearson seemed to push off Vikings defender Nate Wright to catch a Hail Mary touchdown pass in a 1975 playoff game to give the Cowboys a shocking victory.

“You just had to bear it,”Wall told WCCO.

Sunday night, she witnessed her first playoff game in person and saw the Miracle of Minneapolis unfold, as the Vikings defeated the New Orleans Saints 29-24 on the game’s final play to reach the NFC championship game.

And if the Vikings should defeat the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Wall will be in the stands for Super Bowl LII at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, courtesy of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, WCCO reported.

Wall could be seen during the Vikings game Sunday drinking a screwdriver with her granddaughter, Ashley, WCCO reported. The team had given her two tickets to the playoff game against New Orleans to celebrate her upcoming 100th birthday in July.

How rabid a fan has Wall been? When angered or frustrated by the Vikings’ play, she would throw a foam brick at her television set, WCCO reported.

“There were years I got up all the time so I thought ‘Well, this is dumb,’” Wall told WCCO. “So now I put a string on (the brick) so I can retrieve it.”

If the Vikings reach the Super Bowl, it will be the first time a team will play pro football’s biggest game in its home stadium. And if Minnesota should win its first Vince Lombardi trophy, then Wall truly would have seen it all.

Sam Rockwell's vulgar ad-lib on 'SNL' has Twitter buzzing

When Golden Globe-winning actor Sam Rockwell made his “Saturday Night Live” hosting debut Jan. 13, he was probably hoping to wow viewers with his impeccable comedic timing — but they ended up being stunned by his potty mouth instead.

That’s right, the “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” star dropped the F-bomb during his very first sketch.

The cringeworthy incident occurred during a PBS parody skit called “Science Show” that also featured regular “SNL” cast members Cecily Strong and Mikey Day. Rockwell plays a Bill Nye-esque science teacher who attempts to teach two of his more intellectually challenged students about the wonders of science using experiments.

In fact, Strong and Day played dumb so well that Rockwell couldn’t help but go off-script and dropped the vulgar expression.

Needless to say, the great minds over at Twitter had a field day:

Here is the skit, with the offending word bleeped out:

Winner, winner: Braves buying Phillies Chick-fil-A dinners after losing playoff bet

The Philadelphia Eagles were not the only winners Saturday.

Thanks to the Eagles’ 15-10 victory against the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC divisional round, their baseball counterparts are getting free meals.

The Atlanta Braves will be sending the Philadelphia Phillies sandwiches from Chick-fil-A to pay off a bet, WPVI reported.

The Phillies initiated the bet, tweeting at the Braves about a friendly wager:

The Braves were more than happy to accept the challenge and even set the terms:

When the Eagles held on to defeat the Falcons, it gave new meaning to the phrase, “Winner, winner, chicken dinner.” It guaranteed a nice meal for the Phillies, even if they are sandwiches and not full-blown meals. But no meals today, since Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays. However, the Phillies did send an address so the Braves would know where to mail the food.

Neeson was referring to the story of NPR’s radio host and writer Garrison Keillor, who was fired from Minnesota Public radio after being accused of inappropriate behavior with a co-worker, according to the New York Post.

Golden also denied claims that Harding made about growing up on the wrong side of the tracks in a trailer.

“We were never trailer trash,” Golden said. “We had a beautiful new trailer. We didn’t live in filth or dirt or anything that I would call unusual.”

Eliza Dushku says she was molested by 'True Lies' stunt coordinator at age 12

Actress Eliza Dushku took to Facebook on Saturday to allege that she was molested as a child by a "True Lies" stunt coordinator.

"When I was 12 years old, while filming 'True Lies,' I was sexually molested by Joel Kramer, one of Hollywood's leading stunt coordinators," wrote Dushku, now 37.

"Ever since, I have struggled with how and when to disclose this, if ever. At the time, I shared what happened to me with my parents, two adult friends and one of my older brothers. No one seemed ready to confront this taboo subject then, nor was I."

>> Read the full post here (WARNING: Discretion advised.)

She alleged that Kramer, who was 36 at the time, lured her to his hotel room, put her on the bed, then "disappeared in the bathroom and emerged, naked, bearing nothing but a small hand towel held flimsy at his mid-section" before wrapping his body around her and sexually assaulting her.

Dushku also said she was, "by no small coincidence," hurt in a "stunt-gone-wrong on the Harrier jet" the same day a friend she had confided in confronted Kramer about the incident.

"With broken ribs, I spent the evening in the hospital," Dushku wrote. "To be clear, over the course of those months rehearsing and filming True Lies, it was Joel Kramer who was responsible for my safety on a film that at the time broke new ground for action films. On a daily basis he rigged wires and harnesses on my 12 year old body. My life was literally in his hands: he hung me in the open air, from a tower crane, atop an office tower, 25+ stories high. Whereas he was supposed to be my protector, he was my abuser."

Kramer has denied the allegations, Variety reported.
